Bringing the Gospel to Mongolia
In his first Christian mission to Mongolia, evangelist Franklin Graham preached the gospel to more than 17,000 people.
The feast of joy event took place in the capital Ulaan Baatar with about 2,000 people making the decision to follow Jesus Christ.
It was organized by over 260 local churches.
Their leaders said CBN News the outreach has been a blessing to Christians and non-believers across the country.
Reverend Graham noted that many in the crowd were looking for something because they had a void in their lives.
He told them that God is the only one who can fill that void.
He said he was “delighted” by Jesus’ response.
His charity Samaritan’s Purse previously performed life-saving heart surgeries on nearly 500 Mongolian children.
Since the end of communist rule in the early 1990s, approximately 40,000 Mongols have converted to Christian denominations, representing just under 2% of the population.
More than half of Mongolians practice some form of Buddhism, while nearly 35% are unaffiliated with any religion.
