By Jennifer Smith For Dailymail. Eric Ramirez was fired from his position as head coach at Hebron High School in Lewisville, Texas, for allowing hazing rituals. A girls high school soccer coach was fired for allowing his team to organize 'kidnap' hazing rituals where teenagers were duct taped, blindfolded with panties and hosed down outdoors late at night and during cold weather. Officials from the area's independent schools district placed him on administrative leave amid claims he did nothing to stop the rituals which girls describe as a time-honored tradition. The hazing on December 8 involved older girls picking new recruits up from their houses late at night. They duct taped their mouths, blindfolded them with panties and tied their hands behind their backs with cable ties. The girls were taken to a park where they were hosed down with water and covered in silly string. While Ramirez, a married father with two daughters, may not have known the specifics involved, officials say he was aware the girls were doing more than merely going to a local IHOP for a late night breakfast as they claimed. Officials say he allowed the girls above to pick each other up late at night, tie each other up and blindfold one another with panties. Ramirez knew the students were engaging in inappropriate activities other than simply eating breakfast together, including activities that potentially endangered students,' one official said in a memo obtained by Dallas News.

The Cheltenham School District says a hazing incident occurred last month in which members of the boys' soccer team were dangled by their underwear, a technique referred to as "ripping. District spokeswoman Susan O'Grady said in a statement Tuesday that the district learned of the episode Sept. It also notified police. She described the hazing as "a forceful pulling and tearing of the victim's underwear to the point where it rips and allows the victim to be dangled by their underwear. Word of the incident came a week after disclosures of a hazing scandal at Central Bucks High School West in which football players allegedly groped the private parts of fully clothed players at a family picnic in August. The Cheltenham matter has been "thoroughly investigated, and certain actions have been taken with regard to certain athletes and certain district personnel with supervisory responsibilities," O'Grady said in the statement.
This is a list of hazing deaths in the United States. This is not an exhaustive list. An exact list is not available because there is no central system for tracking hazing deaths, and the role of hazing in some deaths is subject to disagreement. Inclusion in this list requires that the incident was described by the media as a hazing-related death. Incidents involving criminal or civil proceedings that did not find a definite link with hazing may still be included if they meet this criterion. According to the National Collaborative for Hazing Research and Prevention at the University of Maine , hazing is defined as "any activity expected of someone joining or participating in a group that humiliates, degrades, abuses or endangers them, regardless of a person's willingness to participate". There has been at least one university hazing death each year from to
