The U.S. Embassy in Ulaanbaatar is pleased to announce “Art with the Ambassador,” an online exhibit from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on February 16. U.S. Ambassador Michael Klecheski will host the event live from his home, with a collection of original U.S. artwork provided by the U.S. Department of State’s Art in Embassies (AIE) program.

For more than five decades, the IEA has played an important role in American public diplomacy through a focused mission of vital cross-cultural dialogue and understanding through the visual arts and the dynamic exchange of artists. The program engages over 20,000 participants worldwide, including artists, museums, galleries, universities and private collectors. It includes more than 200 sites in 189 countries. The upcoming “Art with the Ambassador” online exhibit will feature one of more than 60 exhibits that have been installed at U.S. diplomatic facilities around the world.

Some of the artists who created the works on display will join the conversation live from the USA to talk about the styles and inspiration behind their work as Ambassador Klecheski takes a live tour of the art at home. Participants will have the opportunity to interact directly with American artists and with Ambassador Klecheski.

The virtual event is open to the public and will have simultaneous translation. Journalists interested in covering the event can contact us at [email protected] or 7007-6249 for more information.

American corners in Ulaanbaatar, Darkhan, Khovd, UV and Dornogovi will broadcast the event live. Members of the local community interested in participating in the event are encouraged to contact their US corner directly for details.
