Additive Engineering (AE), a medical technology company 25% owned by Singular Health (SHG), has successfully commissioned a manufacturing facility in Melbourne which is now commercially operational.

The facility installed three titanium 3D printers and two polymer 3D printers. It is fully integrated for on-site design and manufacturing, with a mezzanine office.

An early print job produced a titanium cutting guide and generated AE’s first revenue.

The company has entered into a production sharing agreement with medical technology provider Device Technologies.

Device Technologies will receive preferential access to the facility in exchange for promoting and reselling AE’s services.

Singular Health CEO Thomas Hanly said the company’s investment in AE will bring him significant benefits.

“Access to advanced manufacturing capabilities, including 3D printing, is an essential part of Singular Health’s Scan to Surgery process and is the last step before the surgery itself,” he said. .

“The workflows used by Additive Engineering demonstrate the commercial and clinical viability of the process of designing and printing patient-specific implants.

“We are very pleased to see our investment come to fruition in just 11 months with commissioning and first printing now complete.”

The shares were trading flat today at 21 cents at 3:15 p.m. AEDT.
